Is it rude to ask my guest to pay to get in?? I don't want to pay for this thing myself? Or do I allude to wanting cash instead of gifts?
absolutely not! you busted your butt to make that party happen, and plus they gonna wanna come bad enough anyways, should just take advantage of peoples willingness to attend
I don't think so. charge away!
hmmmm...true! :)

Heres an idea...I did it for my 16th. Instead of asking for gifts..how about you ask your guests to bring a toy to donate to blue Santa or a canned good for the homeless. This way you are really making a difference instead of thinking its all about YOU!!! After all....isnt that what life is all about...helping others and not expecting so much. Material things will never fullfill you anyway.

Hey wats up,
I think you shouldn't charge your guests as it is wierd to take money from other people. It makes you look poor and thats sad. Just ask them to donate some money if they won't to like a charity or sumthin.
Luv Ya,

Actually I think its rude to have a big party at all just b/c you turn 16 like is that some magical number or something....I was watching "My Super Spoiled 16" today b/c I couldnt sleep. One girl who was disappointed b/c she thought 3 helicopters were taking her to arrive at her party but there was only one!!! She kept saying "what a disaster" this is....a REAL disaster is the woman who cleans my building who just lost her job and has 3 kids to support....a REAL disaster is the kids who wont have coats to keep them warm this winter....a REAL disaster is the people fleeing the murders in Sudan who see their families slaughtered before their eyes....get my point??? Our youth is our future and our future isnt looking too bright....Shame on the parents who indulge their kids....are these kids volunteering and doing anything useful for their community? I doubt it....its all about me, me me, How sad and pathetic.....

OMG!!! What the hell is wrong with you people?!?!!? This girl, "donthatethe30" is asking you for advice ...not for you to bash her. You people are just mad because you probably cant afford half the things they can. My lord...GET A LIFE! You talk about donating cans to charities...donating money to charities...blah blah blah! Well, I highly doubt you guys do that, you just expect everyone else to. And how do you know that donthatethe30 doesnt do that already? Is she asking advice on what to donate?! NO! You people are morons. You act like you know her and you dont. Get a damn life. To answer the question, no..its not rude to ask a guest to pay to get in. Hell, its YOUR party you do what you want with it. If you want cash instead of gifts, then you can imply that. Nothing wrong with it! It is your party and its your birthday. Do what you want! Just be happy :)

I personally do think it's rude because you invited them, it's like making them get you gifts, which are implied because it's a party. I am not wealthy by any means, and I survive off of a cop's salary. My 16th birthday was about 20 guys in the woods playing paintball, that's it.
